Food is a daily necessity. It carries with it the nourishment we need to keep our bodies functioning well. It carries with it the love and care of those who prepared it, from farm to table. It also has the potential of bringing together a family or a community, in order to cap off a mundane day or celebrate a major milestone.

Food is the very essence of life.

Full Moon Feasting – Eating With the Seasons is a year long exploration of our connection with the land, the seasons and those foods that nourish. The series is broken down into five sessions, one for each season and a bonus class focusing on batch cooking. The series is part community gathering, part story telling, part work bee, and all about inspiring you to bring the good foods to the people in your life.

Join Luka Symons, local Holistic Nutrition Practitioner as we explore the bounty found in each season and how to bring it to the table, practically and with ease. We will explore the concept of eating seasonally, and touch on why this might be important.

Each class will feature a list of foods, teas and spices for the season as well as food prep ideas to bring in to your meal time routines. These are each a full day of cooking + eating! Expect to get your hands dirty – you'll want to bring your apron and kitchen knife for these sessions.

Each of the five sessions are full days in the kitchen, from 9.15am until 4.30. We will break for after-school pickup, for those who need to pick up littles. Save the dates:

AUTUMN – Tuesday September 25/2018 (harvesting, preparing the bounty)
WINTER – Tuesday November 27/2018 (braises, stews + soups, the good fats)
BATCH COOK – Tuesday January 29/2019 (tips for small batch prep + how to turn into meals)
SPRING – Tuesday March 26/2019 (all things green, new growth, sprouting)
SUMMER – Tuesday June 4/2019 (fresh flavours, flowers, start of harvesting)

Cost is $120 per person per class, which comes to $600 for the full year long series. It is taking place in a private kitchen in the city's NW corner. Get in touch if you're interested in joining in!
