How it all began…
This class originally came about as a 10-part series for the Junior High set, called the Junior High Cooking Elective. It was a once-a-week Friday afternoon Elective class I honed over six years, with a small group at the Calgary Waldorf School.
When the pandemic hit in the spring of 2020, many Jr High students were at home, and many were missing their Friday afternoon electives. That was when my intrepid co-host Eliza (my teen daughter) and I decided to run this whole series online, in a live setting. We and 59 other participants met every Friday for 10 weeks in a row to learn those Scratch Cooking Fundamental skills, to help set them up for life.
Learning to cook from scratch on your own - that is a NLS (Necessary Life Skill). My co-host in this series, daughter Eliza sums it up well: “instead of wasting food at restaurants, you can pay less and make food that is just as good, if not better! You learn how to make food that’s actually good for you, instead of having to rely on unhealthy or packaged food because that’s all you know how to make.”
Cooking from Scratch is where it's at, kittens. Access 10 different topics, go through the content at your own pace.
Build those skills one by one, and in a few months' time, you'll be whipping up nutrient dense offerings for everyone at your table!
When you sign up, you get instant access to 10 recorded video modules on making some of your favourite foods from scratch, along with grocery lists and a bevy of recipes. Each session is 1.5 hours in length. We cover:

Foods That Fuel: healthy sports nutrition ideas / what to eat before a workout / during a workout / after a workout
